Another late night shot. Tried a few different subjects including garlic, knives, and a teacup. I got a few interesting shots, but ended up choosing this for todays photo.

Went to The Fountains in Roseville to try and get a shot for the day. I tried a bunch of different things and had fun doing long exposures on the main water feature.

I really like bush daisies and have taken plenty of pictures of them. To get a little different result, I messed with the white balance on this to get the blue and purple colors.

Maternity

Well, today was the day that I decided to quit my 365. While I was in the shower (where I do all of my best thinking), I realized that I have way to much on my plate and that my 365 was taking up way to much time. I talked it over with my wife and even told Max that I was quitting.

Then around 9pm, I started getting anxious. I had felt at peace with my decision to quit, but then I started having second (and third and fourth) thoughts. Long story short, I've made it too far to quit now and despite all of the challenges, I'm determined to finish this.

It means that I may not be posting my shots as often or visiting everyone's streams as much as I'd like too, but I've made a commitment to finish this. I appreciate all of the support from everyone and look forward to the next 293 days :D

Our son's name is Cooper, so when we saw these Coopers beers, we had to buy a few. They've been sitting on my desk for a few years now and became a last minute subject for my 365.

These buildings are Rancho Cordova, near where I work. I've wanted to take pictures of them for a while because of their bright colors. It would have been cool to have clouds in the sky...

Ultimate Driving Machine

Ultimate Driving Machine

Ever since Adam bought his BMW last year, we've been talking about taking some photos of it. Well, we finally went out and took some shots. I asked Michael Hunter if he'd be interested in editing one of the shots for his PP Friday - his take turned out pretty awesome!

For my shot, I removed the lamp post and buildings and added some nicer green grass. I did a bunch of other edits and this is what I ended up with - I hope Adam likes it ;)

Side note - I just found out that BMW dropped the tagline "Ultimate Driving Machine" back in 2006 - who knew?

Introducing Luke McKinnley Martin!

Our third son (surprise!) was born March 17th at 3:43pm. That's right, we had a little St. Patrick's Day baby :D

Weight: 7lbs 5oz
Length: 20.5in

Labor and deliver was quite a bit different this time around, but everything worked out great and Shannon and Luke are doing well.

Deep Thoughts

Deep Thoughts

I was playing around with some different lighting setups. I thought this backlighting turned out pretty cool.

For some reason, when doing SP's, I always end up with serious look. Probably because I'm thinking too hard about the shot ;)

Nimbus Dam

Nimbus Dam

On my way home from work, I stopped by to take some pictures below Nimbus Dam. To the left, there are some cool green hills with oak trees on them. Perhaps those will make it into my 365 on another day.

The clouds were really neat, so I thought I'd try this in HDR. I wish it wasn't windy and the water would have reflected the dam, oh well ;)

Camera: Nikon D90 | Nikkor 18-105mm(ƒ/3.5-5.6G) @ 18mm | ƒ/3.5 | ISO 200 | 1/2000s

HDR:
- Auto bracketing; 3 exposures at -2, 0, and +2 EV respectively.
- Tonemapped in Photomatix using detail enhancer option
