Thirty-Six Weeks

Thirty-Six Weeks

I haven't posted in a while and the last time I posted a picture in the "52 Weeks of Luke" series was back in April :(

So, I thought it was time to show off our little guy in this adorable crochet brown teddy bear hat found on Etsy.

This picture was taken on Thanksgiving in Petaluma, CA.

My Legacy

My Legacy

Another photo from our Chico trip. This was taken on the front steps of the administration building (Kendall Hall) on the Chico State campus.

It's not easy to get all 3 together for a photo, especially in good moods...so we are really happy to have been able to get this! Added a bit of texture for some fun.

Focus on the Family

Focus on the Family

Last weekend we went up to Chico to visit with Max and his family, who were also there visiting.

Although it rained most of the day, we had a great time visiting our favorite places and reminicing about the years we spent in Chico. After Max left, we took the boys to Bidwell Park to play at Caper Acres; a fun little playground for the kids to play before we headed back home.

This was a random shot where I just stuck the camera close to the grass and "blindly" took a shot. I really liked the way it turned out, so I thought I'd share.

My Son

My Son

Another photo from Cooper's first day of school. This was taken before we left.

As the first week of Kindergarten comes to an end, the emotion and significance of it all is starting to set in. He's a big boy now, and he is starting his journey through life and the process of becoming independent from us.

I am very proud of him and excited for him to start his journey. I may not be ready, but I know he is.

In the US, the average number of days a child attends school is 180. Assuming he at least makes it through High School, that's 13 years for a total of 2340 days of school. As of today, 4 down, 2336 left to go :D

First Day of Kindergarten

First Day of Kindergarten

Yesterday was Cooper's first day of Kindergarten...it's hard to believe how quickly they grow up.

The drop-off went well. His teacher let all of the parents stay for the first 20-30 minutes while she met everyone and let the kids warm up. Given that we had all 3 kids and Cooper kept telling us how boring this school was, there wasn't any time to get sentimental about the event. The teacher even read "The Kissing Hand", which could have been a tear-jerker.

Before we know it, he'll be asking for keys to the car...

Exhilaration

Exhilaration

Last Friday I took the day off and we took the boys to the California State Fair.

We didn't get there as early as we wanted and stayed a lot longer than we planned, but all-in-all, we had a good time. The boys had unlimited passes and spent almost the entire time on the rides; going again, and again, and again.

We lucked out that the temperature was only in the high 80's, although was still blazing hot in the direct sun ;)

From This Moment On

From This Moment On

Yesterday, in celebration of our 10th Wedding Anniversary (July 29th), we returned to our wedding reception location (In-Laws backyard in Novato, CA) to renew our vows and exchange new rings.

We created a CD of music to play and even had a miniature version of our cake made for the celebration. It's hard to believe that 10 years have gone by already...they've been the best 10 years of my life!

Max was gracious enough to be our photographer for the event and he captured a lot of great photos, including this one.

From This Moment On, by Shania Twain, was our first dance song.

Taken for Assignment52 week 29 - Hands.

We took the boys to the cement slides in Roseville for an event with their preschool class. It was mass chaos having 30+ kids all sliding down the two slides, but it was fun.

C-Dub is a nickname that we have for Cooper, but don't ever really use. Since his initials are CWM, I like to pretend his rapper name is C-Dub ;)

Another day in the sun with water. I was trying to get a good slip 'n slide action shot, but ended up with mostly water bokeh shots ;)

Deep Thoughts

Deep Thoughts

Took the boys out to play in the water on a warm day and snapped some photos. While it's nice to get ones of them smiling or looking into the camera, this one stood out to me. They both look deep in thought; I often wonder what goes through their little heads.
